Hey guys, welcome to Shama.TV! I am back after a very relaxing weekend here in Dallas. My husband and I had a little STAYcation, where we just stayed in Dallas and explored some things we’ve never checked out before, and there are two things I really want to tell you about. So if you live here, you live in Dallas or you’re visiting Dallas, these are two things you absolutely have to check out. The first is a fabulous spa called “Luxury on Lovers.” It is just fantastic. We spent pretty much an entire Saturday there getting a massage, getting facials, they even have an infrared sauna, the staff is just fabulous, and it’s right in uptown Dallas and I just had a fantastic time. Now they aren’t sponsoring this, they aren’t affiliates or anything, I just think you guys should go check it out because it’s a really cool place. Now the other event that I wanted to talk to you guys about is Shakespeare in Dallas. This is just such a fun event. They put on Shakespeare plays in an outdoor setting, and people pull out their picnic blankets, and bring food, and it can be a really great family adventure. This summer they’re playing Taming of the Shrew and another play that is completely skipping my mind right now. We saw The Taming of the Shrew and that was a very well-done play, kudos to the director, who actually spoke to us before the play and gave us a synopsis. So really two fun things to do in Dallas are Luxury on Lovers if you want a spa day, it’s the best spa I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a lot of spas, and I also really recommend Shakespeare in the Park. So those are two really fun things to do in Dallas!
Hey guys, welcome to Shama.TV! I wanted to answer a question that I get often, and it is “Well, we love to do social media marketing and we have a bunch of bright interns! Can they do our social media marketing?” The short answer is – yes. Yes they can, because there are a lot of very talented young folks out there in colleges and even in high school and they’re really savvy with a lot of the technology of today. That being said, I will mention that you have to train your interns, and that’s really the key. So what I find myself doing a lot of these days actually is a lot of companies will say “Can you train our interns on how to use social media?” Fine, that’s great, but whatever you do make sure they are being trained whether you bring someone from the outside in, whether you’re giving them books, make sure that they know what they’re doing. There was a company not too long ago where an intern said things that they weren’t supposed to say and there was a big backlash. Things like that can happen, so what’s really best is if you are going to use an intern to take over the social media marketing in your company, be sure to train them.
